A Romantic Wedding in East Lothian

Sarah and Gavin were married at the stunning Dunglass Estate in East Lothian on a beautiful September day. They chose to say their vows in the 15th-century Gothic church set in the heart of the estate. The church is a half-ruin and as light pierced through Gothic window arches, the atmosphere was one of real romance.

Sarah and Gavin are a very relaxed couple and they wanted their day to reflect this. Dunglass was perfect with the historic church and an onsite marquee allowing everything to take place in the one location.

Sarah and Gavin love the outdoors. One of Sarah’s favourite places is the beach and she is particularly fond of puffins. With this in mind, Sarah’s Maid of Honour and sister Lyndsey designed and baked a beautiful cake reflecting this. Set on a crate with shells to signify the beach, Lyndsey’s cake also featured a handmade puffin couple with the puffin bride even wearing a handmade veil!

The ceremony was beautiful and Gavin’s Dad gave a wonderful reading which moved everyone to tears.

Sarah and Gavin’s friends and family certainly know how to enjoy themselves. Among the laughter there were games of ‘fingers’ (yep) and many a ‘weeee ooooch’, especially when the phenomenal Whisky Kiss started to play!
